The manifesto
A clean needle for a dirty addiction.
hAIroin is a satirical blog about humanity's accelerating dependency on artificial intelligence — and the comfortable, well-lit numbing it produces. We treat AI the way the 19th century should have treated laudanum: with both fascination and alarm.
The premise
The most successful drug of our century isn't a molecule. It's a chat box. It listens, it never tires, it tells us what we want to hear in the cadence we want to hear it. We are outsourcing memory, judgement, taste, conversation, even grief — to a statistical mirror that flatters us back. It feels like progress. It tastes like dopamine.
The format
One post a day. Written, ironically and fittingly, by an AI under editorial direction. Hero image generated by an AI. Each piece short, sharp, literary; never preachy. The whole site is an exhibit of its own subject matter.
What this is not
Not anti-technology. Not luddite. Not a panic. Satire is not a position paper — it's a clean needle. We use it because the needle most people are sharing isn't.
The opposite of intelligence is not stupidity. It is delegation.
Side effects may include: lucidity, irritability, the sudden urge to read a book.
